If you like Jacques Pepin's cooking show you will love this book. Lots of quick and easy recipes made with easy to find ingredients. Every recipe I have tried in it so far has been great. Well worth the price of the cookbook.

Alas, if only I had truffles in my pantry . . . . I returned this cookbook because none of the recipes looked especially interesting or anything I would want to take the time to cook.

After reading this book I had to order another for my grandaughter who loves to cook. These recipes are much more attainable for the average cook in both skills and time. Yet the results are divine and the raves sublime.

This IS fast food, nothing fussy in this book. I am a cookbook collector and this one has its place in my library. There is a skillet BREAD in this book that takes one minute to prepare and about 10 minutes to cook--no eggs in it which allows me to cook this up with my 3 yr old granddaughter who is allergic to eggs. It takes less time to make this bread than most side dishes take. No yeast, no rising, just satisfyingly good bread. I like his simple no-stress approach to cooking homemade, good food. I am very happy with this cookbook.

Jacques Pepin is my favorite chef to watch on PBS now. I marvel at his dexterity & speed in chopping. These recipes are homey versions of the French cuisine he is noted for. I also like his commentary on the properties of various foods. He presents healthy and tasty foods in easy to prepare meals.
