The dog had destroyed the room. Pillows were chewed. The blanket was shredded. A corner of the mattress was missing. Toilet paper was everywhere.
Connie closed and locked the door behind us.
"Don’t anybody panic. It’s probably not as bad as it looks. Cheap mattress, cheap blanket, right? How much could a pillow cost?"
"Uh oh," Lula said. "I think he…shorted the television. This here’s like traveling with a metal band."
Boo was on the bed, tail wagging.
"But look at him," I said, "He’s so cute. And he looks sorry. Don’t you think he looks sorry?"
"I think he looks happy," Lula said. "I think he’s smiling…At least he didn’t eat the flowers. It’s nice to come back to fresh flowers in the room."
"They were sent by a serial killer! They’re death flowers," I shrieked.
"Well yeah, but they still look nice," Lula said.
When Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey’s smartest, sassiest bounty hunter goes on the trail of Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant who’s gone missing, she discovers more danger than anyone could have imagined. Aided by her sometime partner Lula, “a plus size black woman in a size seven white world,” with an outrageous wardrobe and attitude to match, Stephanie trails her man to the Vegas strip, where she meets a gang of killers who give new meaning to the word “hunter.”
Janet Evanovich, New York Times number one best-selling author of Seven Up and Hard Eight, scores again with To The Nines, the funniest, most suspenseful Stephanie Plum novel yet. You’ll find all of her wild, delightful characters, including Stephanie’s ever-raunchy Grandma Mazur; Ranger, the mysterious, sexy, and totally dangerous Cuban bond agent who mentors Stephanie in the unpredictable world of “fugitive apprehension”; and Joe Morelli, handsome cop and Steph’s ex-fiance—a charming stud as likely to break her heart as save her life.
Feisty Stephanie Plum is one of the great heroines of modern mystery, and will especially appeal to anyone who’s ever looked for love while living on peanut butter till the next paycheck. If you’ve never met this tough broad who wears her heart on her sleeve, now’s the time!

Another great book with Stephanie Plum. Have read all the books in the series and look forward for more to come. I love her grandmother-she makes me laugh with all her shenanigans. The twists and turns wont let you put the book down till you finish it all. Great writing Janet!!!!!

Once again, Janet Evanovich keeps us on the edge of our seats guessing "Who Done It?" I loved this book and the thing I liked the most about it,, there was a lot of Ranger. God how I love Ranger!

I enjoy all the Stephanie Plum novels as well as other books written by Janet Evanovich. She has a talent for combining suspense and comedy that makes you hate to put the book down while chuckling out loud. I always look forward to the next book of the series.
