In James Patterson’s latest blockbuster, the four women of the unconventional Women’s Murder Club pursue a killer whose deranged M.O. has struck terror into the heart of the city.
When an eleven-year-old girl is shot on the steps of a San Francisco church, hard-as-nails Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer calls a meeting of the Women’s Murder Club. Together with ambitious assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt, savvy medical examiner Claire Washburn and Cindy Thomas, a bright young reporter for the Chronicle, Boxer tracks the mystifying killer to a local hate group. But this murder is no one-shot accident. Lindsay’s gut tells her it’s linked to the death of an elderly widow on the other side of town. But how?
The murder of an officer…and then the chief of police leads Lindsay and the girls to a new kind of criminal—a serial killer who’s slaughtering anyone with a connection to the police force. Now the race is on to catch this unusually twisted murderer before he strikes again. Could Lindsay and her fellow clubmates be next on the demented killer’s hit list?

Liked this book even better than 1st to Die.

I started reading this series backwards, I didn't have anything to read so I bought 3rd degree, which was an excellent book. Then I read this book that was even better, now I am reading 4th of July. I guess I will order 1st to die. But this series is definitely a good read while waiting for Alex Cross books to come out. Recommend this series to all in any order.

If you loved 1st to die, then you'll love 2nd chance. I couldn't wait to get to the end of the book, it kept me wanting to know more. I feel like I am with the group they way they interact. Can't wait to read 3rd degree!

This book started out really good and ending of course really good. I recommend this book just like the first one.

After reading 1st to Die, I couldn't wait to read another in the Lindsey Boxer series. This book did not disappoint me, and was another nail-biter . Patterson keeps you on the edge of your seat with the story plot and surprises. I didn't want to put it down and finished it in two days. The only thing disappointing about this book was having it end! I went right out and bought the next one in the series: 3rd Degree. I recommend reading this series in order. Start with 1st to Die and you won't stop there!
