The Night Eternal

As nuclear winter cloaks the Earth, the vampires continue to confine humans to giant concentration camps, where they are harvested for the sustenance of the Master Race. But not all have been contained. A group of rebels roams free, among them, Eph, the brilliant scientist who discovered the threat; the exterminator Vasiliy Fet; and Gus, the ex-gangbanger with a talent for dispatching the undead. Unable to destroy this horrific new order, they are suspicious when strange creatures arrive to join the fight....

Frighteningly believable, the bestselling Strain trilogy by Guillermo del Torro (Pan’s Labyrinth) and Chuck Hogan (Prince of Thieves) comes to an explosive conclusion as an unexpected ray of hope pierces The Night Eternal.

In need of some serious editing!
April 29, 2012

The first book in this trilogy was fascinating and I could not stop reading. As the story evolved in the second and third books, however, the authors engaged in long, boring histories and explanations that just made the books nearly unreadable, and this last volume is the worst. I knew what the ending would be long before it occurred and that made it even harder to wade through all of the extraneous wordage! Very disappointing, especially given the promise of the first book.

A betrayal of creativity.
March 10, 2012

The first two books of this series were an interesting, and enjoyable read leaving me looking forward to the conclusion to see how and where it would go. Upon reading the last book I felt greatly dissapointed at the authors lack of enthusiasm in writing. It almost seemed like it was being written just to tie up all the loose ends, and simply be over and done with. Dissapointing...

Great Read If You Have Insomnia

The first two books of this trilogy were wonderful. They whetted your appetite for what was sure to be a stunning conclusion. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT !

Bloody Vampires!
December 06, 2011

I liked this series because it made vampires back into monsters from the teenage heart throbs they've become lately. WIth the scientific bent on these stories it brought vampires into the 21st century. I was a little disappointed that angels and God had to be brought into it. One high concept story line should be enough to carry a series but, what the heck? Should make a good Del Toro movie some day.

I love this trilogy

This has been a great ride for me. I really love this book and the previous two. These books are real page turners and the action never stops, twists and turns in every corner. I strongly recommend this trilogy.
