KG MacGregor
Here’s an interesting tidbit about Shaken Series author KG MacGregor: the name is a pseudonym, the “KG” is a nod to her cats, Katie and Gracie. Her website says, “Please feel free to call me Sue,” but we prefer to call her a wonderful author of lesbian fiction books, such as Without Warning (the first in the Shaken Series), Out of Love (winner of the 2007 Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Romance Novel) and Worth Every Step (shortlisted for the Lambda Literary Award in Women's Romance and winner, Traditional Contemporary Romance, at the 2010 Golden Crown Literary Awards). Though her real name remains a mystery, there’s more than a bit of the real KG MacGregor in the lesbian fiction books she writes. After reading Secrets So Deep, a convincing courtroom drama in the Beltway, it’s no surprise to discover KG MacGregor earned a PhD in media research from UNC at Chapel Hill and once worked as a political pollster. Mulligan, a heartfelt lesbian romance novel about love in the golden years, is a nod to golf, one of her favorite pastimes. There’s no disguising her sense of humor when it comes to romance, either. Case in point, the book Sumter Point. Its one-line plot description reads: “Reckless, meet Sensible. Sensible, hold on.”
