Robert Rodi
With a knack for both celebrating and skewering gay culture’s archetypes and stereotypes, Robert Rodi is queer literature’s king of comedy. Kicking things off with his 1991 debut novel Fag Hag, Rodi has penned a slew of hilarious books including Closet Case, Drag Queen, Kept Boy, Bitch Goddess, and When You Were Me. But his talents extend beyond novels—Rodi has written literary criticism for the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, comic books for DC/Vertigo, and sketch comedy for several Chicago theater institutions, including his own performance art troupe The Pansy Kings. Rodi is a native of the Chicago suburbs and continues to live in the Windy City.
